Mary Louise Streep was born to Mary and Harry Streep on June 22, 1949 in Summit, New Jersey. She completed her BA degree in drama from Vassar College (1971) followed by her Masters of Fine Arts degree from Yale Drama School (1975). She moved to New York City in 1975.

Streep is a versatile actress who’ve achieved success on stage and on camera. She made her stage debut in the 1971 play, The Playboy of Seville. Streep picked up her first Tony Award nomination for the 1976 production of ‘A Memory of Two Mondays’. Other notable stage appearances include ‘The Cherry Orchard’ and ‘Happy End’.

She has been nominated for 19 Academy Awards and won 3. Her star was added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 16, 1998.
