Why Choose American College of Norway?

For three decades, the American College of Norway (ACN) has provided a unique and intimate learning experience for Norwegians, Americans, and international students in Moss, Norway. Founded in 1989 by Dr. Steinar Opstad, ACN opened its doors in 1992 to a small group of eager Norwegian and American students. Since then, ACN has established itself as a close-knit community, welcoming students from Norway, the United States, and beyond to its English-taught curriculum, led by American faculty. The ACN program is tailored for Norwegian students seeking one year of American university education before continuing their degrees in the United States. ACN’s dedicated staff provides personalized support to help students with course selection, application procedures, visa information, and other practical matters essential for their transition to the U.S. system. The program admits only 70 students each year, including about 10% American students. This limited capacity allows for an intimate learning environment, where students can get to know each other and enjoy the benefits of studying abroad in a different culture. Moreover, students can experience the daily excitement of living in Norway, making ACN a truly unique educational opportunity.
